Welcome to the Oak Class web page, the home of year 4 and 5
Teachers: Miss Titterton & Mrs Richards
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Stickley
In Oak class, we are very lucky to have two teachers! Monday- Thursday mornings, Miss Titterton is in the classroom and teaches: SPaG, Maths and Literacy/Reading. Monday afternoons, Miss Titterton teaches P.E, French and PSHE. Tuesday- Thursday afternoons, Mrs Richards teaches: Topic, R.E, ICT, Art/D.T and P.E. Friday mornings, Mrs Richards teaches a reading lesson, along with an independent short writing activity. Friday afternoons the children have their Science lesson.
This term Oak class will be exploring ‘Raging Rivers and Mighty Mountains’. The children will have lots of opportunities to utilise skills taught throughout this year to complete collaborative and independent work. It is an exciting topic and one in which the children gain a greater understanding of the world around them. To see what we will be learning please see our topic map.
Our P.E sessions are Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Pupils must have their indoor and outdoor P.E kit in school. Weather dependent pupils will complete the Golden Daily Mile and will therefore need to keep a pair of trainers in school throughout the week. All jewellery must be removed for P.E. If pupils are unable to take part in P.E or the Golden Mile, they must have a note in their Home/School book from parents/carers.
Any other useful information
Homework is given out on Fridays and must be returned by the following Wednesday. Pupils are encouraged to complete homework independently where possible and have the opportunity throughout the week to ask for additional help or attend Homework Club at break time – Monday – Wednesday.
