Our Topic

Topic provides children the opportunity to learn about the wider world and apply key skills within interesting collaborative projects and gain independent learning experiences.

In the Autumn Term, Year 6 will learn two exciting topics:

Coastal Environments

With global warming ever more prominent in our lives, we are going to explore the coastal environments found around the Great British Isles. The Great British Isles are a group of islands in the North Atlantic off the north-western coast of continental Europe. Our topic will be crammed full of geography; whereby we will explore and investigate weathering and the impact it has upon the coastline and identify features found around our coastlines. To close our topic we will research and discover the challenges managing our coastlines, discuss what is in store for our coastlines and what we can do to preserve our beautiful British Isles.

The Mayans

Did you know the Mayans loved chocolate!! Well…history has confirmed that the Mayans were very sophisticated people who ran sophisticated lives. Using our research skills and our thirst for history, we will discover many amazing historical facts all about the Mayans.
