The Department of Education sets out that the purpose of Governance is to provide confident, strategic leadership and to create robust accountability, oversight and assurance for educational and financial performance.
Governors are a voluntary body made up of both parents and members of local community.
Governors have three core functions
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and it’s pupils, and the performance management of staff
- Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure money is well spent.
We are part of the The Shire Learning Trust (SLT) with Gnosall St Lawrence and Woodseaves.
There is a scheme of delegation from the directors of the MAT board which sets out, and limits, the responsibilities of the local governing body.
We are committed to ensuring that each child within our school family achieves their best and excels to their potential.
