Haughton St. Giles (C)
Primary School

Haughton St Giles C.E. (C) Primary School offers an attractive and welcoming environment which aims to develop each child's full potential, p romoting attitudes of mutual respect and responsibility. The School aims to create a happy, welcoming and secure environment in which each child can develop confidence, individuality, an inquiring mind and good learning habits, as well as an understanding of how to work with thought for others. The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.

We aim to develop each child to his or her full potential whilst at Haughton. We have close links with St. Giles Church.

Haughton has received two School Achievement Awards and an excellent OfSTED Report, which described Haughton as, “a very good School…. a delightful place to work and play.” We have been recognised as one of the most successful primary schools in the country by OfSTED‘s Chief Inspector in a recent Annual Report. Other recent awards include the Artsmark Award, Charter Standard Status for Football by the Football Association and the ‘Quality Mark' of the Basic Skills Agency.

We are fortunate to be situated in a village environment, which provides a rich resource for enhancing the curriculum. The School has its own pond and environmental area. New Key Stage 2 classrooms were completed in November 2002 and all classrooms in the School are now fitted with interactive whiteboard learning systems.

No prospectus can provide a complete picture and I would, therefore, like to extend a warm welcome to you to visit the school.
